The Mobile Device Software Developer will have the exciting opportunity to develop industry-leading remote control application software on mobile device platforms such as Google Android and RIM Blackberry.  The Developer’s efforts will contribute directly to the quality of the customer’s experience on consumer electronics products that will be released worldwide.  This contract position reports directly to the Director of Product Development

Responsibilites:

  • Meeting with product managers to gather and analyze software feature requirements.

  • Implementing required software features on mobile device platforms

  • Identifying relevant software tools that increase productivity and quality of mobile device software

  • Developing manual and automatic test procedures that will effectively identify and isolate product software defects

  • Providing weekly project status reports to team members and the Director of Product development

  • Implementing mobile device communication, control and user-interface software that is competitive with leading multimedia products

  • Working productively with user-interface graphic designers to enhance customer experience

  • Collaborating with team members to produce mobile device software that works reliably and efficiently with other system components

  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships with mobile device suppliers to ensure product quality and competitiveness  

  • Providing second-tier technical support for mobile device software to end-customers and global distributors

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or diploma. Preferably Computer Science or Engineering

  • Demonstrated capability writing software on a minimum of 2 of the following mobile device platforms: Google Android, RIM Blackberry, Apple iPhone / iTouch/ iPad

  • A minimum of 2 years experience writing/testing production quality software in a team environment

  • Professionally capable in a minimum of 2 of the following programming languages: Java, C,C++, Perl

  • Meticulous attention to detail and software quality while meeting tight manufacturing schedules, a must

  • Interest in multimedia software and technology would be an asset
    Proficiency in schematic design software such as OrCad, MicroCap, and AutoCAD

  • 3 years experience in MS office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Other:

This position will involve routine meetings with software consultants and marketing staff to define and implement software features of several new products.
